Been playing this game a bit lately. Haven't made it past act 1. Basically just to the boss dude in the prison. I've been trying to find a character a like, and get a feel for the game before I go full force into something. I think I've found a nice build as a Witch that should make it far.

Anyone else playing this game? If so, would you like to play together with Skype?
Preferably new characters, HC or non-HC don't matter.

It's an online action hack and slash RPG, with a slightly tilted top-down 3rd person view, like Diablo. The main idea remains the same as all games of this genre, work through the Acts, or campaigns, finding items, and clearing out dungeons, forests, etc. Each act has a few epic boss fights that really kick your a** compared to Diablo where it's faceroll honestly.

Once you complete all the acts, you progress to the next difficulty, with all your items, level, etc. Where you play through the game again, except it is much harder. There is I think 4 difficulties in this one, counting the one you start on.

There is 2 leagues currently, default, and hardcore. If you join the hardcore league, if your character dies you move to the default league. You keep your items, but not your stash. (I think this is only during the beta, once they are done with beta, hardcore characters will be dead forever)

The difficulty of this particular game is pretty substantial. And the pa**ive skill tree is huge. There is hundreds of builds you can do for each of the 6 'cla**es'.

I don't know what else to say. It's got extremely high replay-ability, you can have fun with friends, it's difficult, and it's free.

So is Path of Exile only in beta right now? Is it  a game you have to buy or is it just an online game like this one?

It's in open beta atm. And it's completely free. But you can pay for more character slots, storage, and cosmetic things. Not very game changing.

Just occurred to me that you've played Diablo 3. You should really give it a try BBM. Maybe we can make new characters (smiley)

I've made it to act 3 with a frost / int focused Templar. Act 3 is the last one I think.

I was excited for Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2 (both games like this). I preordered Torchlight 2, and only played it for about 24 hours and haven't touched it since. Diablo 3 I never gave a try. I've only heard crap about it. Path of Exiles... so much better than Torchlight 2.
